Scholarships Awarded in 2024
Newport Harbor Area Alumnae Panhellenic is proud to announce that in 2024 we were able to award $10,000.00 in scholarships to collegians who are attending universities located in the southern California area that have been selected by Newport Harbor Area Alumni Panhellenic to receive applications for the scholarships. Newport Harbor Area Alumnae Panhellenic is honored to have been able to assist four outstanding young women as they move forward toward achieving their goal of obtaining a degree in their chosen field of study.
Daphne Scholarship
Application Acceptance Starting Date: March 1, 2025
Application Due Date: April 11, 2025
Each year Newport Harbor Area Alumnae Panhellenic offers a scholarship, the Daphne Scholarship, to collegiate members of sororities affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) that are located on the campus of the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
The 2025 Daphne Scholarship will be in the amount of $2,000.00.
Candidates applying for the Daphne Scholarship must currently be enrolled as full-time students at the University of California, Irvine. Applicants must have attained sophomore or junior status at the university and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 Applicants must also be active members in good standing with their sorority. To be eligible to receive the Daphne Scholarship, the recipient(s) must be enrolled as a full-time student at UCI for the entire 2025-2026 academic year when the Daphne Scholarship will be granted. In addition, the recipient(s) must continue to be an active member in good standing with her sorority.
Completed application forms for the Daphne Scholarship must be returned, via email or through the United States Postal Service, on or before the April 11, 2025 deadline. Any applications received after the due date will not be considered.
The Newport Harbor Area Alumnae Panhellenic Awards Committee will review all qualified application forms. Information provided by applicants will be kept confidential. Daphne applications will be evaluated on the applicant's level of involvement in her sorority, participation in campus and community activities, cumulative grade point average, demonstrated leadership, employment and need for financial aid. Information provided by the applicant will be kept confidential.
The recipient(s) of the Daphne Scholarship will be selected by the end of May and will be notified of their selection to receive the Daphne Scholarship within the first two weeks in June. The recipient(s) of the Daphne Scholarship will be honored at one of our meetings.
The funds awarded to the recipient(s) of the Daphne Scholarship will be sent directly to the University of California, Irvine Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and will be credited to her campus account. First, the monetary award will be pooled with other financial resources that the recipient might have available to pay applicable tuition fees. In the event that the recipient has support that goes beyond the amount of tuition fees the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will provide her with credit which she may apply toward other educational costs such as books and lab fees. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will confirm that the recipient has enrolled as a full-time student at UCI each quarter of the 2025-2026 academic year prior to crediting the appropriate funds to her campus account. The monetary award granted to the recipient(s) may be used for educational purposes only.

Minerva Scholarship

Each year Newport Harbor Area Alumnae Panhellenic offers a scholarship, the Minerva Award, to collegiate members of sororities that are affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference. This year the Minerva Award will be in the amount of $2,000.00.
To be eligible to apply for the Minerva Award, the applicants primary address must be in a city located within the County of Orange. In addition, the applicants must have graduated from a public or private high school located within Orange County.
Candidates applying for the Minerva Award must be enrolled as full-time students and must have achieved sophomore or junior status at one of the universities listed below. Applicants must also be active members in good standing with their sorority. To be eligible to receive the Minerva Award recipients must be enrolled as full-time students at the university for the entire 2024-2025 academic year when the award will be granted. In addition, they must continue to be active members in good standing with their sorority. Universities that have been selected to receive Minerva Award application forms are as follows:

Completed application forms for the Minerva Award must be returned, either via email or through the United States Postal Service, on or before the Friday, April 12, 2014 deadline. Any application forms received after that date will not be considered.
